The Gallery Artists participate in many events during the year that allow visitors an opportunity to get to know us. R.A.W. celebrates its anniversary every year on July 3rd with an "Artists Under the Canopies" event. Many of our artist members set-up under canopies at our business site and demonstrate their art. Check out our past events! This event takes place in conjunction with the Troy Old Time July 4th Celebration so be sure to stop in and check us out and see how we do what we do. Some of our artists also share their musical abilities on that day! There is also an annual "Harvest Event" the first Saturday in October when we offer demonstrations and lots of other items not generally found in the gallery. Our "Holiday Open House" is held the first week in December offering a meet and greet of the Artists also.
The Story of R.eal A.rt W.orks
Our Gallery was inspired by a dream and the desire of Kathy Jones, Lynn Ward, and Debbie Shupe to bring together local artists; to create a place where they could showcase their artistry and talents.
After several months of planning and sharing the concept, the doors of R.A.W. were opened to the public on June 18, 2011. The dream was enthusiastically received by our local artists and we currently have over 17 co-op members.
R.A.W. has experienced an enormous reception from the town of Troy and the hundreds of visitors passing through this area. Our success surpassed even our highest anticipation and the Gallery continues to grow and evolve. There is always something new to see as the displays and art work are constantly changing.
Exclusive events for local organizations are planned on a regular basis so that the Gallery may be experienced in a more intimate atmosphere. Our local artists take this opportunity to meet, greet, and discuss their works with those who attend.
The Gallery is a shining example of how a desire and a dream can become a reality. It's truly an inspiration for everyone.
